John Lerch -Owner

John was raised in Palo Alto. He graduated from Paly High School.  John continued his education at UC Berkeley where he completed a degree in Conservation and Natural Resources.

 

Cathi Lerch -Office Manager

Cathi was also raised in Palo Alto. She went to Paly High School, until her senior year where she attended and graduated from Ravenswood High School in East Palo Alto. Cathi brings a wealth of business management experience to Lerch Construction.  She managed Country Sun Juice Bar where she discovered how difficult it was to obtain organic produce.  This inspired her and a friend to start their own company called 3:30 AM Produce. One of their first clients was Late for the Train Restaurant owned by Bob Cool and Jesse Ziff Cool.  Cathi went on to work for Jesse at Flea St. Café in Menlo Park as a cook where she enjoyed beautiful organic food from another side. She also enjoyed co-managing Briar Patch Cooperative Market in Menlo Park. And, Cathi made time to teach basic computer skills to students at Bullis Purissima Elementary School.
Cathi has devoted herself full time to run the busy office of Lerch Construction for the last five years. 

Robert Lerch -Senior Superintendant
Robert has been working side by side with his brother John since the beginning of Lerch Construction in 1973.

Don Simoni -Procurement Officer

Don has a unique approach to purchasing, and has a wealth of experience in the procurement field. Prior to Lerch Construction, Don worked for over 15 years in a similar role for Dupont Electronics. As purchasing coordinator, Don exercises control over the aquisition of materials and services. He also is our liason for potential subcontractors and building officials. He is also a valued team member in managing tools, rentals, and our heavy equipment. The benefit to the client is that, we at Lerch Co. rareley get off schedule because of the demand for supplies. Don has built a commanding communication network over the bay area.

Mark Macdonald -Construction Manager, P.E.

Mark was born in Liverpool England and raised in San Jose. He graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters Degree in Construction Management. Prior to becoming a Lerch team member, Mark was minority owner of Hohbach-Lewin, Inc a prestigious structural engineering firm in Palo Alto, California.

Susan Watkins -Bookkeeper

Susan works with Cathi in the office managing business affairs.  Susan was born in Bogota, Colombia, though she was raised in the United States.  She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Fine Arts degree.  Susan also designs and fabricates fine contemporary jewelry and ran her own business for over 20 years.  She enjoys art and jewelry making, traveling with her husband, being in nature, spending time with family and fire dancing.
